A dancing Garda has sent the internet into overdrive after she pitched in to help residents in Tralee raise money for charity.

Garda Mary Gardiner, a native of The Glen in Cork City, is currently stationed in Tralee and went above and beyond the call of duty last week to support residents of Tonevane who were raising money for local hospitals as well as the #DoitForDan charity set up for the medical treatment of one-year-old Dan Donoher who was born with a rare genetic neuromuscular disease.

Garda Mary starred in her own music video for the Tony Christie classic 'Amarillo' joined, at a distance, by some locals.

"We just never know what we will get involved in while on duty.

"Tralee Community Garda Mary Gardiner giving the Tonevane Residents a dig out raising money for hospitals as part of #FormalFriday and for the charity #DoitForDan.

"Social distancing entertainment at it’s best," Gardaí wrote on social media.

So far the video has amassed a huge reaction online with 513k views on Facebook alone since it was posted on Friday.
