A GOFUNDME page has been set up to help the family of crash victim Kimberly O'Connor.

The 16-year-old from Harbour View Road in Knocknaheeny was killed in a single vehicle crash just a short distance from her home late on Wednesday night.

She was a passenger in the car.

Another passenger, a 17-year-old boy, is critically ill in hospital following the crash. A teenager believed to have been the driver presented himself at hospital for treatment following the crash.

Organiser of the Gofundme campaign, James Twomey, said the fund was set up to "help her amazing family in this tragic time".

So far, the campaign has raised more than €3,000.

One person who donated wrote: "So impressed by your special girl and all the light she brought to the world."

She had recently returned from a volunteering trip to Kolkata with the HOPE Foundation, and was also involved in drama and musicals at school in Terence McSwiney Community College.

Her mother Jennifer and her family said in a statement yesterday that their lives have been shattered by her death.

The link for the fundraiser is here.
