Cork University Hospital (CUH) has the highest number of admitted patients waiting for beds for the second day running.
Figures published by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation this morning show 394 admitted patients are on trolleys around the country, with 54 of these patients alone waiting for beds at CUH.
It’s followed by University Hospital Limerick where 50 admitted patients are waiting for beds.
Elsewhere in Cork, 14 people are waiting on trolleys at the Mercy University Hospital with another five admitted patients waiting for beds at Bantry General Hospital.
Overall, 73 people are waiting for beds at hospitals in Cork, a decrease from yesterday (Wednesday) when 86 patients were waiting for a free bed.
