ICE and snow conditions and a number of road collisions across the city and county are leading to traffic delays for commuters this morning.

There are reports of a collision eastbound on the South Ring Road just before Mahon. In addition to this, emergency services are also attending the scene of a single-vehicle collision on the Commons Road.

Travel times through the Dunkettle Interchange southbound on the M8 and eastbound on the N40 are longer than usual.

Icy conditions have been reported in mid and north county Cork. Black ice has also been reported in Glanmire.

AA Roadwatch has advised motorists to take care on their travels this morning.

A spokesperson said this morning: "Roads are wet in most areas this morning following rain and snow showers overnight. Road temperatures are just below zero so black ice may be an issue in sheltered areas this morning. Take extra care on all routes –slow down and avoid any harsh manoeuvres in icy conditions and never drive through floodwater unless you’re sure it’s not too deep for your car."
