THREE units of the Cork city and county fire brigade attended the scene of a house fire last night on the Mallow Road.

Significant damage was done to the building before the emergency services were able to extinguish the flames, however, it is understood no one was harmed in the incident.

Posting about the incident on Facebook, Cork City Fire Brigade warned people to be vigilant about fire safety around this time as people are being asked to stay home in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

Writing on the social media platform, the fire crew said: “In an emergency call 112/999, don’t forget fire safety in your home during this time.”
