The wind warning, which was issued today, will come into effect from 9am on Saturday and will remain in place until 3am on Sunday.
The national weather forecaster states that "a band of very strong winds, associated with storm Jorge (Hor-hay) will extend across the country during Saturday morning and persist through the rest of the day and into the night".
Southwest veering westerly winds with coastal gusts of 90 to 110km/h are expected.
The yellow rainfall warning, which has been issued for Munster, Connacht and Donegal comes into effect from midnight tomorrow and will remain in place for 24 hours.
Rainfall accumulations of 20 to 30mm are expected during Friday and Saturday, with a risk of flooding.
Conditions are expected to remain dry for the duration of today, with temperatures dipping to -1 tonight and frost and icy patches likely.
