A MAN is due in court this afternoon, charged in connection with a hurley attack in a Blarney shop.

The man was arrested this morning in Hollyhill and questioned about the attack on another man yesterday morning, as part of an ongoing feud between Traveller groups in Cork.

The man, who is in his 20s, has since been charged and will appear before Cork District Court.

The attack was videoed and was uploaded to social media on Thursday evening.

It showed a man being beaten on the ground and staff screamed for it to stop.

A number of men were involved in the attack.

One of the attackers was using a hurley.

It follows a number of 'call-out videos' uploaded to social media in recent weeks, as well as others in January, connected to a feud.

Two men have been charged in connection with online threats in recent weeks.

However, a garda spokesman said there were no arrests made arising out of today's assault in Blarney.

In the videos, uploaded in recent weeks and in January, large groups of men were shown making threats to their rival groups.
