A number of cattle have been rescued after they got into difficulty in water in the Carrigrohane area.
It’s understood that the animals got stuck in the water on a riverbank near The Angler’s Pub.
Cork City Fire Brigade was called to the incident just before 4pm, and spent more than four hours at the scene.
Three fire service appliances - two from the headquarters at Anglesea Street and one from Ballincollig attended the animal rescue incident.
They returned to their bases at approximately 8:30pm.
Around 10 cattle were safely rescued from the water.
