Gardaí in Cork seize car and find drugs after stopping unaccompanied learner driver
Cannabis herb found by Gardaí of Fermoy Roads Policing unit. 

GARDAI from the Fermoy Roads Policing Unit seized a car today after stopping an unaccompanied learner driver whose learner permit had expired.

He was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Gardaí also found a quantity of cannabis herb during the operation.

In a post on Facebook, gardaí said: "This afternoon Fermoy Roads Policing Unit discovered a male driver with an expired Learner Permit driving unaccompanied. 

"The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants and a search of his car revealed this quantity of cannabis herb. We also seized the car. An investigation file will now be prepared in relation to the road traffic and drug offences."

The post continued: "Please, don’t put your own life, or anyone else’s, in danger by driving while intoxicated. Why even risk it? #ArriveAlive"
