Catriona (21) spoke to Neil Prendeville on RedFM earlier today, saying that she saw "no harm" in meeting up with eight of her friends to go drinking last night.

Gardaí were called to the gathering on the northside, where a number of people aged in their early twenties were playing music and ignoring the government directives on social distancing.

After the radio presenter highlighted the seriousness of her actions, Catriona said that she was only thinking of being out with her friends and stated that the group "we're entitled to go for a night out".

The 21-year-old said that she has been ignoring media reports of confirmed cases of Covid-19 as she "doesn't like the news".

At the end of the interview, she did concede that her actions last night were wrong and stated that the group is "not planning on any more nights out".

Following the interview, people took to social media to express their frustrations.

"It shows the mentality by some people who just aren’t taking the current situation with the Covid-19 virus seriously and they’re behaving recklessly," one person commented.
