Cork private hospital informs suspected coronavirus patients they should report to designated HSE hospitals

UPDATED 5.20pm: The Mater Private in Cork has urged people with suspected cases of coronavirus to visit designated receiving hospitals for the infection. 


EARLIER:

The Mater Private has today confirmed that as a precautionary measure it is restricting access to its facility to patients only.

The hospital, in City Gate, Mahon has released a statement on social media and has also cancelled all non-essential meetings. 

In a tweet this afternoon, it said: “as a precautionary measure, we are advised by our experts that in the interest of patient safety we are currently restricting access to the hospital’s facilities to patients only.” Earlier today, the hospital confirmed that as a precautionary measure it had also been advised to cancel all non-essential meetings at the Cork facility."

Meanwhile, the Limerick Leader is reporting that four people with the coronavirus are being treated in isolation at University Hospital Limerick.
