Pipe bomb found in Cork understood to be viable

IT is understood that a suspected pipebomb removed from outside a house on the Kilmore Road was a viable device.
Local TD Thomas Gould has said it has been confirmed to him that the device was real.
"People in the locality believe this device was placed at a house in a case of mistaken identity.
"Locals are very concerned. This is one of a number of incidents of pipe bombs in the city in the last few years and there have been no prosecutions.
"There are a lot of children in the area and this road is the main thoroughfare heading toward the Apple Campus. It is the heart of a residential community."

THE army bomb disposal team has been called to remove a suspected pipe bomb from outside a house in Knocknaheeny.
The device was found outside a house on Kilmore Road at around 3pm.
Gardai have confirmed the discovery.
Emergency services have been called to the scene.
Bus Eireann have tweeted that all route 202 services will not service Kilmore Road "for the rest of the evening" as a result of the incident.
