LATEST: Reports of collisions and a vehicle fire leading to heavy traffic in many parts of Cork this morning

Diversions are in place while emergency services deal with a vehicle fire. 

LATEST: Outbound traffic is extremely heavy on the Lwr Glanmire Rd from Kent Station right out to the Dunkettle R/A, where there are reports of a collision. 

It is also very heavy towards Tivoli on the North Ring Rd with delays all the way back to the Ballyhooly Rd jct in Ballyvolane.

Traffic is slow again this morning on the M8 southbound queuing for the Dunkettle Interchange.

The N28 is slow heading inbound down Carrs Hill.

Meanwhile, the Dromahane/Mallow Rd (R619) remains closed near the Newberry Industrial Estate, while emergency services deal with a vehicle fire.

In the city this morning, traffic is slow again on the M8 southbound queuing for the Dunkettle Interchange. 

The AA reports that it is also busy approaching the Interchange on the N40 eastbound from J9 Bloomfield.

Around the county, the N28 is slow heading towards Ringaskiddy with delays from before Rafeen Bridge past Shanbally Cross.

Traffic is also slow westbound on the N25 is slow heading into Castlemartyr.

Traffic is currently a little slow on the N22 just outside Farran, approaching works on the Lissarda side.
