Cork City FC create reusable face masks: Proceeds will go towards helping frontline workers
Cork City FC have teamed up with Summa Sportswear to create reusable face masks.

The proceeds of the masks, which cost €5 each, will go towards aiding frontline workers and help fund CCFC academy teams.

Since announcing the news yesterday afternoon, the Club has seen a huge reaction from supporters quick off the mark to show their support.

It comes as the National Public Health Emergency Team is due to issue information on guidelines for use of facemasks tomorrow.

Speaking at the daily Covid-19 press briefing yesterday evening, Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health, Dr Tony Holohan said, "there will be a role for face coverings that are not of a medical-grade."

"Perhaps in retail environments, public transport and so on," he stated.

It is expected that the Government will recommend the public to wear face coverings when using public transport or going into shops as the country gradually reopens but that it will not be made compulsory.
