Increase in housing proposed for Glanmire

Planning permission has been sought to increase the number of housing units at a development in Glanmire.
DCN Developments Ltd are looking to build 66 houses at Glashaboy View, Sallybrook Riverstown. Five two-bed houses, 52 three-bed, and nine four-bed homes are proposed.
These homes, if green-lit, will replace 57 units previously permitted under a 2018 application granted by Cork County Council for 89 units on the same site.
That development was appealed to An Bord Pleanála but was also given the go-ahead, with a number of attached conditions.
Part of the proposed layout for the previously permitted development is set to change under these new plans.
A decision is due from City Hall’s planning department on whether the development can proceed on by September 8.
Meanwhile, a decision is due on another development in Glanmire by An Bord Pleanála shortly.
The proposed development is to result in the provision of 15 four-bedroom detached houses, 12 four-bedroom semi-detached houses and 10 three-bedroom semi-detached houses at Knocknahorgan, Sallybrook, Glanmire.
It was granted conditional permission from Cork City Council, but a first-party appeal had been lodged by Ballena Land Limited.
This development is also related to a second 40-unit development at the same location by the same developers.
An Bord Pleanála are due to rule on the development this week.
