In a moving tribute to frontline workers putting in trojan effort in the fight against Covid-19, Safehaven Marine's Thunder Child II conducted a high-speed pass of Cobh last night.
On her stern, Thunder Child II flew the Irish flag emblazoned with the message, 'thank you to all of our frontline workers'.
Thunderchild II, which was built by the Cobh/Youghal-based company, was also accompanied by a new pilot boat which was almost complete before lockdown commenced.
"Great to be able to launch a new pilot boat for the Port of San Ciprian in Spain after nearly two months of Lockdown.
"She was nearly finished at the start of the lockdown and it sure was nice to be on the water again, even with social distancing," Safehaven Marine wrote on social media.
Established in 1996, Safehaven Marine has built over 138 vessels supplied to 27 countries worldwide with over 40 pilot vessels in operation globally.
In 2017, the first Thunder Child set a new world record for the fastest circumnavigation of Ireland, via Rockall.
The video featuring Thunder Child II's tribute to frontline workers was published on Facebook earlier this afternoon and has amassed almost 6,000 views thus far.
