OVER €20,000 in cash, two phones and a designer jacket have been seized by gardaí at a checkpoint in east Cork.

The discovery of €21,000 in cash was made when a car was stopped at Knockgriffin in Midleton yesterday.

It is understood the jacket was a goose feather jacket.

A man in his 20s was arrested and questioned at Midleton garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He has been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

The phones will be sent away for analysis.
