The Bandon Road establishment is set to reopen offering a takeaway service only from Monday at 1pm.
For the health and safety of both customers and staff, Jackie Lennox's have implemented a number of new measures.
Social distancing and a queue system remain in place.
"We ask for one person per household to enter the shop and stand on the floor markers, strictly one person per spot.
"We ask for full co-operation with these measures and with our staff, especially at the door," the chipper wrote on social media.
Indoor and outdoor seating in the restaurant has also been removed "for the foreseeable future".
"We are adhering to all health system protocols regarding sanitation and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face masks and plexiglass.
"We will also encourage you to use contactless payments where possible.
"We would like to stress that these changes will slow down our process so we ask for patience and respect as we try and deliver an excellent service with longer waiting times," they added.
The news has amassed a huge reaction on Facebook with Leesiders expressing their delight at the return of the much-loved chipper.
"The best news I've heard all day. Welcome back guys," one person wrote.
