Motorist in Cork stopped for speeding tested positive for illicit drug

A motorist in Cork who was stopped for speeding was found to be under the influence of an illicit drug.

Gardai in Bandon stopped a car this afternoon which was exceeding the speed limit in a built-up area.

The driver was subsequently tested for drugs, and it was found that the motorist tested positive for cocaine.

The driver was arrested.

Gardai posted details of the arrest on social media this evening, with the message "#arivealive".
