Cork man taken to hospital after paraglider accident

A man, believed to be from Cork, was taken to hospital today after the light aircraft he was piloting crashed in Kerry. 

Radio Kerry is reporting that the incident happened just after 1pm when the 59-year-old who was on an engine-operated paraglider, struck electricity powerlines just outside Castlegregory.

It is reported that he was taken to University Hospital Kerry but was later released.

A number of homes and businesses in West Kerry were without power for a period today.
