A MAN in his 40s has been pronounced dead following a road traffic collision on the N20, the main road between Cork and Limerick.
Emergency services were called to the scene after a car and a truck collided at around 12.30pm on the N20 near Lackanagrour in Co. Limerick.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was taken to University Hospital Limerick as a precaution.
Gardaí say the body of the deceased man remains at the scene and Forensic Collision Investigators are currently en route.
The N20 is now closed near O’Rourke’s Cross with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were traveling in the area at the time of the collision to make it available to gardaí.
