Two arrested in connection with Cork burglaries 

GARDAÍ have arrested and charged two men in relation to burglaries in Watergrasshill and Mitchelstown in May 2020.

Shortly before 6am on May 3, Gardaí received a report that a number of power tools had been stolen from a homeowners shed and that a car was seen leaving their farmyard.

An investigation was carried out by Gardaí which resulted in the recovered of the stolen power tools and the seizure of the car believed to have been involved in the burglary.

On May 16, Gardaí received a report that various tools had been stolen from a farmyard in Mitchelstown in the early hours of the morning. 

The stolen items have yet to be recovered.

Following both incidents, the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit attended and carried out a full examination of the scenes whilst uniform Gardaí carried out house to house enquiries and gathered any CCTV.

On June 13 Gardaí from the Fermoy District carried out an operation and arrested two males, aged in their mid-teens and late 50s. 

They were brought to Fermoy Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The have both been charged and bailed to appear before Mallow District Court tomorrow at 10.30am.
