M&S provide update on job losses

The company says it will be moving to a "leaner, faster retail management structure" as part of its 'never the same again' programme, Sky News reports. 

However, a spokesperson for the company confirmed to The Echo that the announcement is "UK focused" and will not affect Irish stores. 

In Cork, M&S is located on Patrick Street, with a second branch in Douglas Village Shopping Centre.

Douglas Village Shopping Centre has remained closed since August 2019 following a fire in the shopping centre's car park.
