Another person with COVID-19 in Ireland has died, bringing the number of COVID-19 related deaths here to 1,679.
The National Public Health Emergency Team confirmed this evening that an additional 25 new cases of COVID-19 have also been reported in Ireland, with 25,201 cases confirmed here since the beginning of the outbreak.
It comes as latest data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) shows that up to Friday, June 5th, 1,529 cases of COVID-19 have been reported from Cork, an increase of one case on the previous day and 52 cases on the previous week.
Dublin has reported the highest number of COVID-19 with 12,042 cases reported there.
A total of 3,283 cases nationally have been hospitalised, with 408 of these cases admitted to intensive care units.
A significant proportion of the cases, 7,963 cases, are associated with healthcare workers.
