Gardaí have arrested and charged a man in relation to a robbery and assault on Grand Parade, Cork on September 19, 2019.
Shortly after 11pm, a man was walking on Grande Parade when he was stopped by a group of men. One of the group then struck the man in the face and stole his headphones.
A description of the suspect was circulated to Gardaí from Anglesea Street on patrol in the area and a man, aged in his 20s, was arrested shortly after. The stolen headphones were also recovered.
He was detained at Bridewell Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and later released.
Gardaí then prepared a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions and the man was re-arrested and charged yesterday, June 23. He is due to appear before Cork City District Court on July 15, 2020 at 10.30am.
