A book of evidence was served on a 24-year-old man accused of assaulting another man and producing a plank of wood during the alleged incident.

Once the book of evidence was served at Cork District Court, Judge Olann Kelleher sent the case forward for trial at the October 26 sessions of Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

Daniel Lettice of 94 Upper Fairhill, Cork, is accused of assault causing harm to Dean Madden at Cathedral Street, Cork, on February 14.

He is also charged with producing a plank of wood while carrying out the assault.
