McDonald's restaurants in Cork reopen for walk-in takeaway with new measures in place

McDonald’s in Blackpool Shopping Centre, Moorepark West, Fermoy and Winthrop Street will reopen following a successful pilot in June.

Some of Cork’s McDonald’s restaurants will reopen for walk-in takeaway with new measures in place from today.

McDonald’s in Blackpool Shopping Centre, Moorepark West, Fermoy and Winthrop Street will reopen following a successful pilot in June under the new measures to keep employees and customers safe.

Restaurant teams have adjusted to new procedures to enable safe working and social distancing and stores will look a little different after the introduction of a number of changes.

McDonald’s has also advised that “things may take a little longer” due to the necessary changes in its restaurants.

Signposting and floor-markings have been put in place to create a one-way system around restaurants for customers and delivery partner couriers.

A limited number of people will be allowed inside restaurants to help customers and employees adhere to social distancing. Customers will be welcomed inside when a space becomes available and will be asked to sanitise their hands at cleaning stations..

Fewer self-order screens will be switched on and the restaurant seating areas, customer toilets and lifts will remain closed.

People are encouraged to visit alone to collect their food where possible and McDonald’s has asked its customers not to visit if they feel unwell.

McDonald’s thanked its customers for their “continued support and patience” and reminded them to adhere to the guidance from the Government and health authorities.
