Assessment of “potentially” dangerous building in Cork City underway

An assessment of a “potentially” dangerous building in Cork City is underway this evening.
Cork City Fire Brigade was called to attend at a building on Liberty Street just after 2pm this afternoon amid concerns the building was “potentially” dangerous.
Two units attended the scene.
A spokesperson for Cork City Council confirmed this evening that a building control engineer is assessing the situation.
However, at this stage, it is not believed that there is a structural issue with the building.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and to expect traffic delays.
