A private hospital in Cork has warned that it does not engage in door to door collections after it was made aware of bogus charity workers posing as hospital representatives.
The Mater Private Healthcare Group was recently informed of unverified charity workers calling to the homes of residents in Cork and posing as representatives of the Mater Private Hospital.
In a statement, the hospital said: “We do not engage in door to door collections of any nature and would urge anybody who is approached by these people to contact their local Garda station immediately.
“We take this issue very seriously and are working with an Garda Síochána to resolve the matter,” the statement read.
People are being asked to take extra caution and to be vigilant of people posing as charity workers or healthcare representatives.
