A group of fortunate whale watchers recently got the opportunity to catch an up-close view of a humpback whale feeding near Courtmacsherry Bay before passing underneath their boat.

The breathtaking moment occurred during a tour run by Atlantic Whale & Wildlife Tours, a company located in the village of Courtmacsherry.

"More jaw-dropping wildlife near Courtmacsherry bay County Cork.

"In this amazing sequence of action from Monday’s trip we see a humpback whale feeding followed by a massive fin whale lunging at the bait ball.

"Then the fin whale passes directly underneath our vessel," the company wrote on social media.

In recent weeks, Atlantic Whale & Wildlife Tours have posted a slew of videos to social media showing multiple sightings of whales and dolphins.

On Sunday, Cork South-West TD and whale watching guide, Christopher O'Sullivan posted an impressive slow-motion video of a common dolphin jumping out of the water in West Cork.
