More people waiting for beds at CUH than any other emergency department

More people are waiting for beds at the emergency department at Cork University Hospital than at any other emergency department (ED) in the country today. 

According to the latest Trolley Watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO), 32 admitted patients are waiting for beds at Cork University Hospital’s ED.

Twenty-four people are waiting for beds at the ED in University Hospital Kerry while at University Hospital Limerick, 22 patients are waiting for beds at the ED with a further 21 waiting for beds in wards.

Elsewhere in Cork, three admitted patients are waiting for beds at the Mercy University Hospital.

Nationally, 186 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, with 159 waiting in emergency departments, while 27 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.
