Thirty-eight people are waiting for beds at hospitals in Cork this morning.
According to the latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s (INMO) Trolley Watch, 30 people are waiting for beds at the emergency department at Cork University Hospital (CUH) - the second-highest figure for any emergency department in the country.
Ten admitted patients are waiting for beds at the Mercy University Hospital.
Nationally, 159 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning.
University Hospital Limerick is worst affected with 30 admitted patients waiting for beds at the hospital’s emergency department and a further 16 waiting in wards.
