Fire Brigade currently attending the scene of a hazardous material incident in Cork

Update 9:15pm - A hazardous material incident at Carr's Hill has been successfully dealt with by the Fire Brigade.

Earlier this evening, units from Anglesea Street and Carrigaline were at the scene of a 20-litre container of hydrogen peroxide which is believed to have fallen off the back of a truck.

The chemical will now be disposed of by Lehane Environmental. 

Earlier - Four units of the Fire Brigade are currently at the scene of a hazardous material incident on the Carrigaline side of Carr's Hill.

Three units from Anglesea Street and one from Carrigaline are currently dealing with the incident.

The alarm was raised at approximately 6:45pm this evening.

On social media, Cork City Fire Brigade has urged motorists to be cautious on all approaches and to expect delays in the area.
