Munster Cricket has confirmed that cricket has resumed at Cork County and Cork Harlequins.
Activity had been temporarily suspended at the clubs after a player who had been involved in a fixture between Cork County and Cork Harlequins at the Mardyke last Sunday, become ill.
He was subsequently tested for Covid-19 and Munster Cricket today confirmed that the test was negative.
“Munster Cricket are pleased to confirm that cricket will resume at both Cork County and Cork Harlequins following news that a player who exhibited Covid-19 symptoms has returned a negative result,” it said in a statement.
The news means that the fixtures due to take place this weekend can continue as planned, it added.
