Three people were taken to hospital following a road traffic collision which occurred near Killeagh this afternoon.

Three people were taken to hospital following a road traffic collision which occurred near Killeagh this afternoon.

The incident happened at approximately 4:30pm today when three cars collided at the junction of a filling station in Burgess on the N25. 

Three people have been taken to CUH.

Their injuries are being described as serious but not believed to be life-threatening. 

In a statement Gardaí said:

"Gardaí in Youghal attended the scene of a road traffic collision on the N25 (from Youghal to Killeagh) in Burgess, Co. Cork at approximately 4.30pm this afternoon, Friday 31st July 2020.

"Three cars collided at the junction of a filling station on the stretch of road. 

"Three persons, details currently unknown, were taken to Cork University Hospital with serious but what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.

"Emergency services also attended the scene.

"Investigations are ongoing."
