Gardaí in Cork have launched an investigation after a car failed to stop at a checkpoint on Sunday evening.
Gardaí located the car a short time later but no arrests have been made.
In a statement to The Echo, a garda spokesperson said:
“A car failed to stop for Gardaí carrying out a checkpoint on Ringmahon road, shortly after 5pm this evening, Sunday 16th August.
“As a result a managed containment operation ensured.
“The car was located a short time later shortly before 5.30pm at Little Island, Cork,” they added.
“No one was injured and no other vehicles were damaged during the managed containment operation.
“No arrests made and investigations ongoing.”
