Cyclist suffers serious injuries after bike collides with parked van on Cork road

A cyclist has received serious injuries following a collision on the R624 Fota Road yesterday evening.

The cyclist, a man in his 40s, collided with a van which was parked on the side of the road. 

In a statement, Gardaí said the man's injuries are not life-threatening and that enquiries are ongoing. 

"Gardaí attended the scene of a road traffic collision on the Fota Road in Cobh, Co. Cork yesterday evening, Wednesday 22nd July 2020 at approximately 5.30pm.

"A cyclist on a pedal cycle collided with a van which was parked on the side of the road. 

"The cyclist, a male aged in his 40s, received serious but non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

"Enquiries are ongoing," they said.
