Breaking: Body of man recovered from river in Cork city

A body has been recovered from the river in Cork city.
Gardaí in Bishopstown were alerted to a body in the water at Lee Fields, Carrigrohane, this afternoon at approximately 4p.m.
Gardaí attended the scene assisted by fire brigade and removed the body of a man in his 40s, from the water.
The body has since been transferred to Cork City morgue where a post mortem will take place and a file will be prepared for the Coroners Court.
Investigations are ongoing.
