Up to 400 people are without water this evening as crews work to repair a burst water main serving Fota Island and Great Island, including the town of Cobh.
Irish Water say around 300 to 400 people are without water, mostly in Belvelly and surrounding areas at this time.
The utility says water stored in reservoirs serving Cobh continues to provide a supply to the town, but there is a risk of interruptions and low pressure in Cobh and surrounding areas this evening.
“Crews are working to repair the burst as quickly and as safely as possible and restore water supply to homes and businesses in the affected area,” Irish Water said in a statement.
The statement added: “Irish Water understands the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the burst and restore normal supply to impacted customers. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries."
