Glorious sunshine across the weekend has led to crowds descending on beaches across the county, while the BBQs have been taken back out of storage.

Temperatures reached 22.5 degrees Celsius at Met Eireann’s weather station in Moore Park in Cork yesterday and are expected to reach 25 degrees Celsius today.

According to Cork County Council’s Beach Lifeguards, conditions are good at beaches around the county with the average sea temperature in Cork 15.5 degrees Celsius today.

The good weather is expected to continue with Met Eireann forecasting highs of up to 25 degrees Celsius again on Monday with the mercury set to rise to 24 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
