CORK City Council has unveiled plans to build more than 100 new housing units on the northside of the city.
One project, called Wolsey Court, proposes the demolition of four houses at Millview Cottages 1-4, and the construction of 49 apartments in four three-to-five storey blocks.
They are set to include 27 one-bedroom units and 22 two-bedroom units at the Commons Rd, Blackpool. Access to the development will be via Commons Rd.
Culclan Construction Limited and Farranferris Developments Limited are to carry out the project which has now gone out for Part 8 public consultation.
Meanwhile, another development, called Redemption Heights, is proposed for Redemption Rd in Blackpool. That Part 8 suggests the demolition of an existing structure and the construction of 64 units.
These are to be divided into 37 two-bedroom units and 17 one-bedroom units in two four-storey blocks, and three-bedroom two-storey houses.
Access to this development will be via Redemption Rd, Seminary Court, and Hatton’s Alley Lane.
HG Construction (Ireland) Limited is the developer for this proposal.
The proposed plans are available for inspection online or in Cork City Council’s offices until Thursday, August 27.
The closing date for submissions and observations is Thursday, September 10.
