A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a single vehicle collision which occurred in Cork today.
The injuries sustained by the motorcyclist are not believed to be life-threatening.
In a statement Gardaí said:
"Gardaí attended the scene of a single vehicle collision that occurred near the Kinsale Road roundabout in Cork, this morning.
"A motorcyclist slid along the ground during the incident.
"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
"These injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."
The incident occurred at approximately 10:30.
Cork City Fire Brigade, which had four units at the scene, advised motorists to use caution in the area.
AA Roadwatch reported heavy traffic heading onto the N40 eastbound.
It is understood that the emergency services have now left the scene.
