KANTURK native Majella Moynihan will tell her story of mistreatment by her Garda superiors when she became pregnant outside of marriage, on the Late Late Show tomorrow night.
The former garda's story led to an apology from the Garda Commissioner Drew Harris and the then Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan when it emerged on RTÉ Radio 1's Documentary on 1.
She was investigated and threatened with dismissal after becoming pregnant by another garda in 1984, at the age of 22. She gave up her son for adoption.
When she returned to work after her maternity leave, she was charged with breaching Garda discipline for having sex with another Garda out of wedlock, and for giving birth to a child out of wedlock.
She left the garda force in 1998 on early retirement.
She has since managed to build a relationship with her now adult son, David.
Also due to be on the show tomorrow night is Mary Trump, niece of US President Donald Trump, who recently published a book about the Trump family. Hollywood's Jane Fonda and Dublin GAA star Bernard Brogan, and TV presenting duo Ant and Dec will also be on the show.
