Cork to escape Level 3 Covid-19 restrictions but limits will be placed on house gatherings across the country

The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) is currently meeting to consider measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 but Cork has escaped a move to higher-level restrictions despite an upward trajectory in cases.
Two counties, Donegal and Dublin, are currently operating at Level 3 and four counties, Cork, Roscommon, Galway and Monaghan, are being closely watched by NPHET.
However, The Echo understands that Cork will not be recommended to move to Level 3 restrictions by NPHET.
Restrictions will be placed on gatherings in homes, though, with a limit of six people from one household allowed to visit another home.
