Gardaí have arrested a man in relation to a burglary in Cork city early this morning.
Shortly before 4.30am Gardaí received a report of a possible break-in at a pharmacy on Oliver Plunkett Street.
Gardaí from Anglesea Street arrived and discovered the front windows of the premises had been smashed and someone was still inside.
Gardaí entered and arrested a man, aged in his late 20s. He was brought to Bridewell Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Seperately, Gardaí have arrested a man in relation to a burglary in Cork city on September 7, 2020.
At around 2.30am Gardaí received a report of a burglary at a café on Western Road. Gardaí from Bridewell Garda Station attended and carried out a patrol of the area but no arrests were made.
The local Scenes of Crime Unit carried out an examination of the scene whilst Detective Gardaí began their investigations.
On the afternoon of September 9 a suspect was arrested in Cork city. He was brought to Bridewell Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He has since been charged to appear before Cork City District Court this morning, September 10 at 10.30am.
