Man appears in court in relation to robbery from wheelchair-bound victim in Cork city

A MAN was due in court this morning in connection with a robbery from a man in a wheelchair in Cork centre.
The victim was on Gravel Lane at around 4pm on Monday afternoon, when he was pushed to the ground and had his wallet stolen.
A garda spokesman said gardaí attended and carried out a patrol of the area but no arrest was made. Detectives from Bridewell Garda Station began investigating and a potential suspect was nominated.
Yesterday, detectives, backed up by the armed support, carried out a search in Cork and arrested a man.
The man, who was in his 40s, was brought to the Bridewell garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He has been charged in connection with the incident.
