Two arrested for criminal damage in Cork town

TWO people have been arrested in connection with an attack on a car on a busy street in Mallow yesterday.

At around 12.30pm, two men got out of a car and approached a second car, and hit the car a number of times with implements.

A garda spokesman said today: "Gardaí attended and carried out a patrol of the area but no arrests were made. Detectives from Mallow Garda station carried out an investigation and executed a search warrant, with the assistance of the Armed Support Unit, this morning.

"As a result, Garda arrested a juvenile and a man aged in his 20s."

He said that during the course of the search Gardaí also seized a number of offensive weapons.

Both males are currently detained at Mallow Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
