More patients are waiting for beds at the emergency department at Cork University Hospital (CUH) this morning than at any other emergency department (ED)in the country.
Thirty-seven admitted patients are waiting for beds there today, according to the latest Trolley Watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).
University Hospital Limerick has the second-highest number of patients waiting for beds at its emergency department.
Thirty-three admitted patients are waiting for beds at the hospital’s ED with a further 15 people waiting in wards.
Elsewhere in Cork, seven people are waiting for beds at the Mercy University Hospital.
Nationally, 203 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning with 167 patients waiting in emergency departments, while 36 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.
