A woman was arrested and brought before Cork District Court charged with putting her own father in fear.

The case was dealt with at an in camera hearing of the court today for domestic cases.

Garda Adrian Murphy charged the woman who is in her mid-thirties with breaching a protection order on August 30.

The charged alleges that on Sunday night she was verbally abusive to her father while she was intoxicated and that she repeatedly shouted in his face and put her head close to his face in a threatening manner putting him in fear of being assaulted contrary to the Domestic Violence Act.

There was no garda objection from Sergeant John Kelleher to the defendant being remanded on bail.

Defence solicitor, Frank Buttimer, applied for precis of the prosecution evidence.

Judge Olann Kelleher adjourned the case until November 7.
