Man due in court in connection with Cork seizure of drugs and cash

A car was stopped and searched in Fairhill as part of an operation targeting local drugs distribution networks, according to gardaí.

Gardaí have charged the man, aged in his 30s, who was arrested in connection with the seizure of suspected drugs and cash in the Fairhill area of Cork city on Thursday.

A spokesman said: "Cannabis herb worth €5k (analysis pending) and a sum of cash (in excess of €12k ) was recovered from the car."

A follow up search was carried out in Passage West, where cannabis herb with a provisional value of €35,000 was found. A small sum of cash and drugs paraphernalia were also seized.

The man is due to appear before a special sitting of Cork City District Court this morning, Saturday, 26th September, 2020, at 10:15am.
